Smiley face challenge
Create your own personalized smiley face using the below tools for one final safety check. Help each other out. Apply what you have learned during the safety course. Ask questions if unsure
Use a tape-ring to draw a circle on an offcut of wood that is at least 125mm x 125mm. Then draw a smiley face of your choosing.
Use the Pillar Drill or Cordless Drill to make starter holes for the eyes and mouth. If any of the cut-outs ( e.g. the mouth) have a sharp corner, drill your starter hole in that or those corners.
Use the Scroll Saw to cut out the eyes and mouth. Feel free to practice using the scroll saw on an offcut (scrap piece of plywood).
Use the Band Saw to cut off most of the plywood around your smiley.
Use the Belt Sander to sand down the sides into a circular shape.
Use the Sanding Block and course and fine Sandpaper (different grits) to refine the edges into a bevel.
Magic Wallet
Create a magic wallet! (and learn how to use an exacto knive, safety ruler, cutting mat and hot glue gun)

Foam Core basics challenge
As a class, watch FoamCore Basics Tutorial Guide
Gather your materials (foam core, hot glue, white glue, art knife, cutting board, ruler, tape) and get to your assigned workspace
Safely cut out 6 even sides of foam core that measure 50mm x 50mm
Trim each side to 45 degrees
use tape to hold each piece in place while you apply a drop of hot glue and assemble your box
set aside your box to dry and clean up your area
